Kochi

Nowhere else in India will you be able to find such a mix than in Kochi. There were amazing fishing nets from China, which I got involved in. The fishermen called me over from the distance and next thing I know, I’m pulling on thick rope along with 5 other men. The net is fully pulled up and the two men run to see what has been caught. The excitement is unbearable that I fling off my flip flops and run across the thin plank of wood as the sea splashes beneath me. I was so delighted to find that I had helped catch a tiger fish and a crab among many other small insignificant fish.

A short walk from the fishing nets was a 400 year old synagogue. Having never seen one before, I had to make my way over to Jew Town to see exactly what one would look like.

If you keep walking around the town you will find ancient mosques, Portuguese houses and pastel-coloured interior catholic churches.

I spent the whole day walking around this laid-back, gentle place slowly stopping at each location and building without any hassle and bother. It was beautiful. I definitely took advantage of the amount of coconuts which were being sold by the water.

So far Kerala, you might be one of my favourite places.
